Air New Zealand are offering direct flights from New Zealand to the Sunshine Coast as part of its Trans Tasman Alliance with Virgin Australia.
To kick start the direct flights, they launched a special price of $149 one way deals. Flights will commence from July 1 to 18 September each Sunday and Tuesday, and if they receive enough demand will look at offering a year-round service. Air New Zealand’s GM Australia Cam Wallace said he was delighted to see Air New Zealand begin a great working relationship with the Sunshine Coast.
On the plus side for us Sunshine Coast locals, Air New Zealand have connecting domestic flights to the South Island’s ski fields and also scheduled connecting flights to North America. So while all the visitors from New Zealand will be soaking up the winter sunshine on the beach, the locals will be heading to the ski fields in New Zealand. This is the first time the Sunshine Coast Airport in Marcoola has offered international flights on the coast and hope it’s just the start of a an expanding airport offering more international flight opportunities in the near future.
You can book your tickets at www.airnewzealand.com.au or www.virginaustralia.com.au.
In conjunction with the launch of the direct flights, Noosa Crest is offering a great winter special stay 7 and pay for 6 nights in either a 1, 2 or 3 bedroom fully self contained apartments and receive a bonus $50 inhouse voucher which includes beach towel hire, DVD’s, beach umbrellas, wireless internet, tennis equipment hire and more.
