and what information do you collect?
In the course of doing business with you and to enable
us to provide you with accommodation and other services,
we do need to collect some personal information from you.
This generally includes your name, address and other contact
details together with credit card information.
How do you collect my personal
information?
This information is collected in a variety of ways. In
person, in writing, by telephone, through our website
and by other electronic communication channels. We always
try to ensure that this information is obtained from you
directly. However sometimes we do obtain information about
you from travel agents and others when you are enquiring
about or booking accommodation.
What do you do with my information?
The information which is provided is used to arrange accommodation,
services and to make travel arrangements on your behalf.
With your permission, from time to time, we may use your
information to keep you up to date with the products or
services we offer or services we think will enhance your
visit to Cairns. However, each time we use your personal
information for this purpose, we will give you the opportunity
to decline to receive any further information from us.
What happens if I decide not to
give you any information?
You do not have to provide us with your personal information
but without your details will not be able to process any
bookings you wish to make.
Who else do you give my information?
We will only ever disclose personal information to the
travel service providers who provide their services to
our clients. We will not under any circumstances release
your personal information to direct marketers without
your express permission.
We will not disclose your information to any other person
for any other purpose unless we are authorised or directed
by law to do so or unless you authorise its release. We
may be required by law or by an order of a court or tribunal
to disclose your personal information to others. The Privacy
Act also allows us to disclose personal information about
you for purposes relating to public safety and law enforcement.
Our contracted agents and service providers have been
informed of the importance we place on protecting your
privacy and their role in helping us to do this and they
undertake to maintain the confidentiality of your personal
information. Any use of your personal information by them
will be subject to the Privacy Act and the Principles.
Who sees or has access to my personal
information?
Your personal information will only ever be seen or used
by persons working for Noosa Crest Pty Ltd. Or those organisations
related to the services we provide such as airlines, hotels
and tour companies and other companies who require that
information to carry out a service on your behalf. Even
then we only tell these companies what they have to know
about you to provide their services to you.
How do you store my information
and is it safe?
Your personal information is stored electronically on
computer equipment with restricted access. All computers
are password protected and have a secure firewall to prevent
unauthorised access and tampering. Some of your information
is kept in writing such as guest registration cards. This
information is stored securely and access is only ever
allowed by people working for Noosa Crest Pty Ltd.
How long do you need my information
for? What do you do with it when you are finished with
it?
Written information is kept for about eighteen months
in case our auditors need to refer to your account details.
Then it is destroyed. Computer records are kept securely
for longer as the Taxation Department or our accountants
may need to refer our financial details. We do keep your
contact details so that we can send you details of promotions
or services, which you may be interested in. Each time
we forward you information you can tell us not to send
anything further. In this case your information will be
immediately deleted from our records.
What if I want to check what personal information you
hold about me?
Subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act you are welcome
to request details of what personal information we might
be keeping. In most cases these details can be provided
quickly and you will not be charged for this. However,
if the information is stored in our archives of requires
time to find a nominal charge may apply.
Are my personal details correct?
If you are ever concerned that the information we have
about you is incorrect then please do not hesitate to
contact us and we will rectify this immediately.
