A lot of the guests were staying at the resort so no driving was required which was a bonus. After the ceremony everyone walked down the private boardwalk onto the Catalina for the sunset river cruise while we had our photos taken in the Noosa Lions Park, along Hastings street, Main beach and then to Noosa Woods where a friends boat picked us up for our private sunset cruise along the Noosa River. Romance can mean different things to different people, and no matter what your idea of romantic holiday is, Noosa has what you’re looking for. Continue reading
I just met up with Yanni the photographer and went through the final details of my wedding. I have been using Yanni for family photos over the years and can honestly say she captures the moment. I’m not one to fuss over particular shots, just to capture the event or story and she does it perfectly.
We walked down the resorts private boardwalk to find the best place for family shots, its such a beautiful walk that anywhere along the boardwalk will be perfect. The boardwalk ends at the Lions Park on the Noosa River so there are countless places to take photos in the park. The rest of the wedding guests will continue to the Catalina Boat and enjoy a sunset cruise on the beautiful Noosa River while the Wedding party will have photos in the Noosa Woods at the end of Hastings street and of course main beach.
We have a friend who has a beautiful boat to take us down to Trio’s restaurant where the reception will be held and the guests will see us come into Noosa Marina – the restaurant is on the River.
So thanks for reading my blogs and when I come back to work I’ll show you a few gorgeous shots of the day.
My final decision with the shoes was to go the traditional style for the ceremony and the fuschia pink as back up for the reception. Although I wanted a splash of colour the ivory shoes fit the dress the best, thanks for all your comments!
I didn’t realise how busy I would be the week before the wedding and didn’t antisipate everyone arriving early and wanting to catch up, very silly of me.
As I type away, my aunty is staying in one of the apartments at Noosa Crest baking my wedding cake, I think I can smell them from the office. She is baking chocolate cup cakes so I’ll have to pop in to see if there are any rejects that I can eat……they are delicious. We have a fruit cake for the top tier, she is famous for her fruit cakes and made an extra one just in case which we are having on the Sunday, can’t wait. I have attached a photo of the cake tier which my Uncle Trevor made….events like these bring families together and make you appreciate what you have.
I think I have one more post and then you will have to wait until I get back.
I need your thoughts! I can’t decide on whether to wear a traditional ivory shoe (dress is ivory) or splash a bit colour and wear fuschia pink. I love both the shoes and would love to wear the pink but will I regret this in years to come? My bridesmaids and I went on a mission all over the sunshine coast to find shoes. Starting in Noosa, Peregian, Sunshine Plaza, Maroochydore and finaly ended in Caloundra and found the shoes that I’ve attached.
As some of my friends missed out on the glamorous hens weekend, they insisted we have lunch instead, how could I refuse. My gorgeous boss Kathy and longtime friend Cath took me to delicous Seasons by the beach for a scrumptious lunch. We ordered the seafood platter to share and then a main each, I was very tempted for dessert but stuck to my pre-wedding diet and had an extra strong coffee instead.
There were lots of sales in Hastings street and of course caved into temptation. Everything is inbetween seasons and the summer season in Noosa lasts well into May so still a few months until we think about wearing jeans. After purchasing a dress or two, I felt very special and very spoilt.
I’m meeting up with the wedding stylist tomorrow so will keep you up to date.
We met up with the Wedding Celebrant Fae Murphy which made it feel real!! Fae was an absolute delight and after talking with her in length she came up with a personalised ceremony that is perfect for us.
The ceremony has the view of Noosa including Laguna Bay, Noosa River and Hastings street, it will be a real ‘wow’ factor for the guests. We have guests coming from all over including London and New York and really want to impress so Noosa Crest will be perfect place. Most guests will be staying in the apartments so they can have a little holiday and won’t have to travel far for the ceremony.
Next on the list is the Wedding designer Carly so stay tuned….
The next day we head down to main beach and spend the morning in beautiful Laguna Bay, it was a perfect sunny day. In the afternoon we hit the shops along Hastings street and pick up some great bargains. This was a weekend to remember and wonderful to be a visitor in my own town Noosa. Continue reading
I’ve just been to the gorgeous Raquel from Bareskin Beauty, she’s been my beautician for nearly 10 years and one of the best if not the best beautician. There is so much work for a female or maybe it’s just me – nails done, waxing done, eyelash tint done and spray tan tonight. Yes, I live in the beautiful Noosa where theres lots of beach and sunshine yet I still need to get a spray tan!
My hen’s night is tomorrow, my last girls night out before the wedding and I’m not sure of the plan tomorrow. It’s a secret but I’ve been told to take an over night bag containing swimwear, dress, heals, makeup and my PJ’s hmmmm. I think we are staying in Noosa, possibly Noosa Crest and doing some form of water sports ie Stand Up Paddling or Surfing.
I hope I survive the weekend, wish me luck and I’ll update you with details and possibly a photo if its acceptable upon my return.
